Day 23 - Candlelight Carol

Today was a reminder that even holidays can be covered with gloom by a loss.

I was informed today that a young student I work with had passed away.  We are deeply saddened by this loss and send prayers for his family, his teacher, and the other staff and therapists that had the pleasure to work with him and enjoy his beautiful smile.

The Polar Bear Plunge

What did our afternoon consist of here in the Veteto household.....well the pictures tell it all!

Adam came home a few months ago and mentioned that he thought he was going to participate in a Polar Bear Plunge and as the weeks went by here we are!

Team:  Kilgore's Medical Pharmacy
Theme:  Super Heroes!
Adam's choice of super hero?  Not Superman.....not Batman.....but Wonder Woman!
With a little creativity and a lot of duct tape........I give you

 "Wonder Woman"

This was a great fundraiser for the Missouri Special Olympics and I am so proud of Adam for taking the plunge!  All in all it was a VERY nice day compared to what it could have been!  Temperature in the high 30s, a slight wind, and COLD water!

In the midst of the rush, Adam decided he didn't need anything between him and the duct tape on his legs.....so --------->

YEP! That is what you think....Adam's leg hair pulled out by the roots!

Adam was VERY glad to be out of the costume and back in his flannel!
