Weekends at the farm!

There is nothing like spending the weekend away from worry and schedules and yes....away from my phone and alarm clock!

Saturday:
Saturday morning we woke up and I was craving a run.  During the week I literally do not have enough time to go on a run outside as we are up and out of the house before the sun comes up and I don't typically finish therapy until well after the sun goes down.....so the weekends I am craving time out on the trail.  So.....I bundled up in my thermals and headed out.  About 2 minutes in I realized I had SEVERELY underestimated how cold 18 degrees was actually going to feel and how fierce the wind would be!  It was not the most comfortable run, but I finally made it to Weir's Orchard .....completely frozen.
We spent the rest of the day with Grandma and Grandpa Harden driving from farm to farm picking up the horses and had a lovely lunch at the Broadway Cafe in Stronghurst.  We talked and spent time sharing stories and pictures.  It is always a wonderful time driving around the farms.
We went with them to a movie at a renovated theater in Burlington - The Capital Theater.  We saw the movie The Ultimate Gift, which was an extremely good reminder the important gifts of life!

Sunday:
It's almost noon and I'm still in my flannel PJs, sipping holiday tea, and watching Hallmark movies!  Exactly how I like weekends at the farm to be!  Relaxing and filled with family time!  I got up and made muffins for the family and then Dad and I peeled and cut a peck of Weir's apples and they are currently in a crockpot cooking....soon to be applesauce.  YUM!  I can't wait!

Weekends on the farm......a true blessing!

Love,
